ABSTRACT:
With the increasing number of portable navigation devices there is a rapidly increasing demand for accurate and up-to-date mapping data. NICTA's AutoMap project has been developing technologies to address some of the challenges involved in collecting and processing information for use in this market. However, there are a number of interesting challenges yet to address. This talk will go through the effort of AutoMap so far, but the main goal is to high-light the non-trivial problems yet to address, the Outstanding Challenges. The audience is encouraged to interrupt and discuss!
